Paraffin wax is categorized into two types:
Fully Refined Paraffin Wax: Fully Refined Paraffin Wax refers to the product obtained from oil wax as raw material, de oiled by sweat or solvent, and then refined by clay or hydrogenation. Fully Refined Paraffin Wax has high melting point (60/62°C), low oil content (Max 0.8%), no adhesion at room temperature, no sweating, no greasy feeling, waterproof and moisture-proof, and good electrical insulation. Fully Refined Paraffin Wax is mainly used for high-frequency porcelain, such as writing paper, then decorative sound-absorbing panels and other products, and it is also used for packaging, as well as electronics, textile, candle crayons, and matchmaking industries.
Semi Refined Paraffin Wax: Semi Refined Paraffin Wax of which oil content is from 1% to 10% and melting point 58/60°C, 60/62°C or 62/64 °C. Our paraffin wax colors differ from snow white transparent to cream depending its oil content and being heavy or light grade which is related to the melting point of the raw material used. Semi Refined Paraffin Wax is not only an important petroleum product, but also an important substance widely used in various industries, and is closely related to the lives of the broad masses of people. The relative density increases with the increase of the melting point. The product has good chemical stability, moderate oil content, moisture resistance, good insulation performance, and good plasticity. Candles made of semi-refined paraffin are concentrated in the flame, smokeless, and will not shed tears.
wax market was valued at US $10.47 Bn. in 2021, and it is expected to reach US $ 13.13 Bn. by 2029 with a CAGR of 2.87% during the forecast period. Paraffin wax is used in a variety of industries including:
- Candles:Paraffin wax candles were first used to replace tallow candles because they burn cleaner and more reliably. Paraffin wax is great for creating custom scented candles because it is colorless and odorless. Paraffin candles also burn brighter than other candle types. Manufacturers create candles with different blends of paraffin wax depending on the type of candle they’re creating and the melting point or oil content.
- Agriculture:Paraffin and special mixtures are used in the fertilizer industries as anti-caking additives so as to ease their dosing, handling and transportation.
- Food:Paraffin forms an important coating for foods such as cheese, citrus fruits, etc. It is also used in the production of gum base which is an important ingredient for chewing gums.
- Rubber:Paraffin is used in the production of tires helping insulate them from ozone and protect them from chipping and cracking.
- Electrical appliances:Paraffin is used to insulate electric nodes and appliances wirings.
- Pharmaceuticals and Cosmetics:Paraffin is used to coat tablets to protect their surfaces and also forms an important ingredient in a wide variety of lipsticks, creams, pastes, and lotions.
- Matches:Although minimal in quantity but the application of paraffin in the matchstick box lightening strips, helps regulate their burning.
- Fabric:All fabrics contain waxy coating that gives it softness, elasticity and flexibility. However, environmental exposure and repeated usage robs its of the waxy texture and needs to be recoated.
- Paper:Paper is used to insulate many kinds of food. However, because paper in itself is not able to provide good insulation properties, it needs to be coated with paraffin wax to prevent passage of odors, micro-organisms and moisture.
- Beauty and personal care:Paraffin wax has been a part of the beauty and personal care industry for years. You’ll find paraffin wax in cosmetics because it quickly dissolves into your skin and provides deep moisture and skin protection.
