Rubber process oils can be broadly classified into three basic groups depending on the physical arrangement of the carbon atoms namely:
- Aromatic Rubber Process Oilsare generally dark in color & good compatible with most Rubber Polymers. It is extensively uses in the manufacturing of Automobile Tyres, Tread Rubber, Conveyor Belts, Automotive Components & Floor Mats etc., where color of the end product is not important.
- Paraffinic Rubber Process Oilsare generally light in color & having wide viscosity range, higher Aniline & Flash Point. Paraffinic Oils are extensively uses in the manufacturing of butyl tubes, EPDM based rubber products such as profiles, hose pipe & automotive components.
- Naphthenic Rubber Process Oilshas good color stability, solubility & thermal stability. It is extensively uses in the manufacturing of foot wear, LPG tubes, hot water bags, moulded & extruded products. It may be use as a banbury lubricants in Rubber Industries
Rubber Process Oil different types have two general grades: Heavy and Light.
The RPO grading is based on its viscosity. Rubber Process Oils with the viscosity of 20 to 30 are considered as light (low viscosity) grade and Rubber Process Oils with a viscosity of 30 to 50 are titled as heavy (high viscosity) grade. Light RPO grade is suitable for cold seasons and regions. On the contrary, heavy RPO grade is appropriate for the hot season and climate.
Here is a summary of the characteristics of Rubber processing oil,
- Excellent color stability
- Low volatility properties
- Good solubility properties
- Elastomer compatibility
Rubber processing oil markets in the world:
Rubber Process Oil Market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 3.95% during the forecast period and is expected to reach US$ 2.74 Bn. by 2027. In terms of region, Asia Pacific is the leading market of rubber process oils, followed by North America and European regions. The growth of the Asia Pacific global rubber process oil market can be attributed to increase in the sales of automobiles in the region that is expected to boost the consumption of global rubber process oils market in the tire and rubber market of the region. Various leading players have implemented the strategies of expansions, new product launches, and agreements, to meet the growing demand for rubber process oil.
The items used to make rubber are extrusion, kneading, molding, and other such things. In addition to the mentioned cases, rubber process oil application effectively improves rubber products’ physical properties. Also, rubber processing oil usage is used in natural and synthetic rubbers. According to these issues, rubber processing oil contains many aromatic hydrocarbons with a high affinity with rubber. In this article, we mention some uses of rubber processing oil. Including:
- Automobile Tires
